RISE FESTIVAL WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE? The Rise festival takes place at the Jean Dry Lake Bed located in the Mojave Desert, 25 miles south of Las Vegas, a wonderful place. WHO PARTICIPATE? The associations The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and Communities in School of Southern Nevada participate in this festival. Tens of thousands of people gather to simultaneously launch tens of thousands of biodegradable lanterns into the desert night sky. WHEN AND HOW OFTEN DOES IT TAKE PLACE? The rise festival takes place every October since its creation in 2014. This year, 2023, it will be on October 19-22. WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT? WHAT DO PEOPLE DO?
